No Age

No Age is Randy Randall and Dean Spunt, a two person noise pop group from Los Angeles.

No Age is a two-person noise pop group consisting of guitarist Randy Randall and drummer Dean Allen Spunt. The band is based in Los Angeles and currently signed to Sub Pop records. No Age’s Sub Pop debut, Nouns, is succinctly all-encompassing, from the faux-simplicity of the title to the beautiful distortion of its sound to the packaging that includes a 68-page full-color book packed with photos and art pieces. In keeping with the title, the visual component depicts many people, places and things, all of which have particular relevance to the music itself. No Age is known for it's impeccable graphic design taste and were been nominated for a Grammy for best CD package design with the Nouns release in 2008. No Age issued a slew of singles on a variety of indie labels in 2007, resulting in the tellingly cohesive compendium, Weirdo Rippers on Fat Cat Records later that year. That widely heralded release set the stage for Nouns. They have been listed as mainstays of The Smell, along with HEALTH, Mika Miko, Silver Daggers, Abe Vigoda, and BARR. Their strong ties with the Los Angeles underground community centered around the Smell and their DIY ethic is a throwback to the 1980's strong hardcore and punk underground, and, indeed, that inspiration shines through on much of their music. They have released two full-length albums, toured extensively in support of them, and are strong advocates of the All-ages Movement Project, an organization that connects youth to each other and the arts through independent music.
